We promptly dropped off the rental car, and went to the airport.
After a much needed coffee and pain au chocolat, we embarked upon the 2 3/4 hr flight.
The heat when we stepped off the plane was amazing! It's about 34 degrees here, but quite humid.
The Whitsunday Islands are at the Southern end of the Great Barrier Reef and are a group of 37 Islands varying in size with Hamilton Island being the largest. Having said this only 30% of the island has been developed for tourism enabling visitors to enjoy both the man made luxury and the natural beauty of this amazing place.
I think the only other time I can remember not being cold in the sea was in Dubai...bath temperature water....amazing!
And now I regret not applying sun cream .....although the Russian tourists looked worse....sort of!
Thanks to AD for the loan of the Panasonic Lumix water proof camera..available at all good retailers (or free on loan until AD leaves Panasonic at the end of the Month!)
