A rather wet Hamilton Island 10th Jan

I'm sure there won't be a huge amount of sympathy from our UK based followers considering the weather you have all been experiencing, however today paradise was wet....very wet! However it was warm so in true British explorer fashion we pressed on with our golf buggy hire, kindly arranged by Marsha (Alice Robins's mother) via her island contacts.
After a wet tour of the island we decided we were so wet that we may as well spend the afternoon in the pool. It was quite a surreal experience swimming under the surface watching the rain land on the surface above you!
Thankfully the rain eased in the afternoon and our friends the Cockatoo's came back to see if we had caved on the no food rule....we hadn't but managed to keep them entertained for long enough to grab some photos.
Thankfully the rain stopped....so we then went out to explore again. No blue sky paradise shots but at least you get a feel of the island
Our restaurant of choice for the evening in the Harbour..... The Mantaray.  We sat outside under the canopy looking at the boats, it was beautiful even with the grey skies!
Uh oh Mummy's driving the buggy...
Some more inhabitants of the island, Rainbow parakeets,
And, you'll have to trust me on this as the were way too fast to catch on camera, but these are Fruit bats,
Way too much cloud for a Moon shot tonight, so you'll has to make do with a scenic shot of the harbour,
And a Frog/Toad that we almost flattened, (the previous one wasn't so lucky...sorry Frog/Toad)....
